Water Sports

There are plenty of water-related activities here, even though this part of the Black River is not known for its swimming. Take a leisurely paddle up the river using our two canoes or a rowboat, and be struck by the peace and beauty of your surroundings. Bring along a fishing pole, and try your luck at catching one of the river’s elusive rainbow trout. You are sure to encounter some of the river’s wildlife during your paddle, and perhaps meet the not-too-shy beavers, who will tell you how they feel about your intrusion. Drift down the river towards the dam and into the chasm that is the Cavendish Gorge.   Experience a sense of time being suspended as you are surrounded by these ancient walls.
